Because the U.S. Tax Code is so complicated, most tax professionals concentrate in specific areas.  Unlike some preparers, I offer full time year round services in the following specialties.

  • IRS Representation for Individuals and Small Businesses
  • Audits
  • Back Taxes
  • Liens
  • Levy’s
  • Offers in Compromise
  • Tax Consulting and Preparation
  • Individuals (with emphasis on seniors)
  • Small & Home Based Business
  • Self Employed & Contract Employees
  • International (Foreign Nationals and U.S. Expatriates)
  • Sanity checking of self prepared returns

Be extremely wary of any firm that advertises that they can settle your tax debt for “pennies on the dollar”!  While this may be possible in certain cases, it is unusual.  As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  I pride myself in being upfront and honest, and I can only do that after completely understanding your tax situation.  Even though I may not promise you complete absolution of taxes owed, there are many ways to legally reduce them to a minimum.

The most common mistake taxpayers make is not replying to IRS notices in a timely fashion after they receive communication.  If you receive a notice of any kind from the IRS, you should immediately contact a reputable tax professional.  By working with a professional, if you have been honest in your tax filing, it is likely you will not owe any additional tax and you will significantly reduce your stress level in dealing with the IRS.

Note that the tax laws for Foreign Nationals and Expatriates are significantly more complex than for citizens and permanent residents who work in the U.S.  Expatriates are required to file returns with the IRS based on their worldwide income even if none of it is earned in the U.S.  The requirements for filing are generally the same as if all income was earned in the U.S.  However, there are exclusions and credits that may apply to reduce or eliminate your U.S. tax burden.

To ensure you pay the minimum income tax possible, you should consider a tax professional that specializes in this area. Tax Proz is one such firm.
